Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Review: Oh What A Tangled Spider Web We Weave.

Great movie for webheads out there, but disappointing for the kiddos.
Rating: 8 out of 10

This is a must-see for fans of Spider-Man and the art style of the first movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but be prepared to be left hanging on a cliffhanger ending since this movie is broken up into two parts. This means that there's plenty of time to establish backstory and build characters, but also means that you'll have to wait until at least next year to watch the epic conclusion of this movie.

Most of the marketing and even the title does not allude to the fact that this is a two part movie unlike Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, which literally has it in the title and had a much more satisfying conclusion than Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

As a fun, summer family-friendly hero movie, this would have been the perfect movie to take the kids to if they weren't so disappointed at the end. As the finale is leading up to a potential big boss battle, I found myself looking at my watch and thinking that they don't have enough time to wrap things up and sure enough, the ending was like a cliff hanger from a Saturday morning cartoon, but instead of having to wait until next week, which was bad enough as an 80's kid, you'll have to wait at least until next Summer and kids these days don't have the patience or the attention span to remember what they had for lunch.
